Carmen was born and raised in the Midwest. She relocated to Texas in 1993 and has called it home since. She married her husband Paul in 1998 who is a native Texan, from the Houston area. They have been blessed with four children; Jake, McKayla, Sarah and Reese. Jake currently plays baseball for Houston Baptist University where he will earn a Degree in Criminal Justice.
