I was born and raised in Texas. I'm 4th generation in Austin. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Austin, 1977, B.A. in English, minor in Spanish. I graduated from the University of Houston, Bates College of Law in 1980. I was licensed to practice law in Texas, 1980, and in Connecticut, 1981. I was a partner in a general practice law firm in Manchester, Connecticut, 1981-1986. I returned to Austin, Texas 1986 and spent 14 years raising a family and acquiring a few rental properties.
